As a Maine resident and S. King fan 4 life, I am MAD AS HELL that I can't watch this short. There are so few really good King movies, most of them are really badly acted or have terrible production values... and I've heard nothing but amazing things about this short. WHY, WHY STEPHEN DO YOU NOT WANT THE REAL FANS TO SEE THIS? I cannot make it to a film festival either, those are mostly for people who are not as poor as I am. Does that mean I am not worthy to see your precious film? I take
offense, as a resident of the of state in which Mr. King lives and a diehard fan in general that such preference seems to have been given to those with enough money and enough free time to just up and go to movie festivals, most of which are on the other side of the country. And as for Mr. King's people asking the person who put up this site to take down the short films, it just seems so cruel and selfish. Most of these short films are going to disappear forever, to private collections or
simply to rest in Mr. King's vault. Why make them at all if they're to be squandered? This almost makes me want to stop reading his work at all, only it wouldn't stop this kind of thing from happening at all, would it?

Is there anyway to see this other than at a festival?

Hey this movie is premiering down the street from me at the Westwood Film Festival in LA October 13th. It costs like $10 to see it and a ton of other movies but I'll probably pay just for this one...better be good for $10 at only 15 mins.

Calm down, Peter. Look at the film-festival classic Ginger Snaps. Not only did it make it to DVD everywhere, but also got a sequel. Perhaps the producers will be nice enough to put it out in the future. I certainly hope they do -- Lunch at the Gotham Cafe is one of my favorite King stories yet, and I would gladly pay $20 for a copy.

Personally I just don't understand why anyone would make a film (especially a King-film) that is not meant to be seen by the general (especially the general King-fans). What's the point? It's cruel! The people behind it are professionals, they promote it in full, and they even have King doing a cameo (a voice-cameo only, but still...). But we won't see it unless we show up at some festival. I can't make it there. I live in Denmark. I'm positive that I'm not the only one of King's giant mass of
fans, who's pissed that "Gotham Caf?" will be THE King-film that can't actually be experienced and enjoyed!
