Dick Morrison joins Quitters, Inc. to quit smoking, but their methods are brutal. If he smokes, his wife will be electrocuted, with harsher punishments for repeat offenses. After a slip-up, he watches his wife suffer and becomes terrified into compliance. Over time, he quits smoking and even loses weight—both enforced by the company’s constant surveillance. In the final twist, he realizes his friend’s wife is missing a finger, proving how ruthless Quitters, Inc. truly is. Note: This is not part of the Cat’s Eye (1985) film adaptation.
