SKSM: Could you start with telling me a little bit about yourself? Who are you and what do you do?
Raegan MacNeil: Hi, my name is Raegan MacNeil. I’m a young actress/entrepreneur and I love spending time with family and friends.
SKSM: How did you become involved in The last rung on the ladder?
Raegan MacNeil: I was previously in a short film with Mike, and after that, he said that he thought I was the best and he wanted to do tons of other stuff with me in the future!
SKSM: When did you start acting and where did you train?
Raegan MacNeil: I actually have never trained for acting, but I started acting when I was eight years old and that was when I did my first audition with Mike.
SKSM: You are ten years old, would you like to dedicate yourself to acting when you grow up?
Raegan MacNeil: Yes, I would love to dedicate myself to acting in the future as a full-time job/career. I actually just turned 11 a few months ago!
SKSM: You live in Beaver Dam, just outside Fredericton, the city where the movie was filmed. What were the moments like when you went to the filming set?
Raegan MacNeil: When I went to the filming site, it was so much fun. I enjoyed every single moment of it, but I was extremely tired because he had a lot of early mornings and late nights.
SKSM: Tell me a funny anecdote that happened to your perfomance.
Raegan MacNeil: One of my favourite memories was when Dave and I were filming our ladder scene and the ring wasn’t breaking.
SKSM: What did you like most about your performance?
Raegan MacNeil: What I liked most about my performance was I would practice on my dad’s chin up bar to see how long I could hold on while practising my lines and at a point when we were filming one of the first takes my uncle was on site and he thought that I was actually falling so he came and ran in and tried to grab me so I wouldn’t fall.
SKSM: Do you wish you had played more in the film?
Raegan MacNeil: Yes, I do wish that I could have played a little bit more, but I am extremely happy with how much I was already on the screen for because it was a good amount.
SKSM: You worked with Michael Stafford on this film, how was that?
Raegan MacNeil: I love Mike. He is honestly such a great mover producer and he helps me with my lines anytime I’m struggling and he’s really supportive. I couldn’t have asked for a better producer.
SKSM: You had also acted before with Erica Jardine in other films.
Raegan MacNeil: Erica is an amazing actor. I really enjoy spending time with her on sets and off of sets. We still keep in touch and we get together.
SKSM: Do you still have any contact with the crew/cast from that time? If so with who?
Raegan MacNeil: Yes, I do keep in contact with a lot of the cast so is Mike Stafford, Erica Jardine, Dave Hartland, and most of the filming cast.
SKSM: What things do you like to do in your free time?
Raegan MacNeil: In my free time I enjoy hanging out with family and friends and doing sports such as basketball and karate and I also own a bracelet business called Raegan‘s Creations where I sell bracelets.
SKSM: What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
Raegan MacNeil: One thing people would be surprised to know about me is I actually do karate and I am a purple belt in karate and in mixed martial arts I am a orange stripe.
SKSM: Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. Is there anything you want to say to the fans that read this interview?
Raegan MacNeil: I wanted to thank everyone who took the time out of their lives to come and watch my short films and everything that I have been in and I appreciate all of you guys!
