Tyler Love

He played in Jeff Blankenship‘s The Last Rung On The Ladder as Young Larry.

SKSM: Could you start with telling me a little bit about yourself? Who are you and what do you do?

Tyler Love: My name is Tyler…I have two cats named Smores and Lucky, I love singing, and I have some amazing friends – like Ben, Summer, and of course, Sam. My role in “The Last Rung on the Ladder” is young Larry.

SKSM: How did you become involved in The last rung on the ladder Dollar Baby film? Did you have to audition for the part?

Tyler Love: I became involved with the film through my lovely mother, who found out about it from one of her friends who is also in the film. I did have to audition for the part and I did it by video.

SKSM: Your role is about a boy who is mistreated by school bullies. You give a magnificent performance, so much so that it seems true. You’re still very young but watching your acting I think you have a bright future ahead of you. Would you like to dedicate yourself to acting?

Tyler Love: I very much would like to dedicate myself to acting, although I know it can be very difficult to make a living off of it as the money is not very stable…so if I would do it, I would do it as a side job.

SKSM: I love the scene when you save your little sister’s life. Do you think being the hero is the most attractive about the story?

Tyler Love: I think being the hero in the story definitely holds something to it, but I don’t think being the hero is the most attractive part about the story. He is a kid who struggled with being mistreated by bullies, and yet he can still do something for somebody else, despite his own problems, and I think that is the most attractive part about the role that I played.

SKSM: Do you wish you had played more in the film?

Tyler Love: Absolutely! This is an amazing film that I wish I could have been a part of more, but I am extremely thankful that I was able to be a part of it at all. I know that you have to start small before you can get some bigger roles with more screen time.

SKSM: What do you think of the film ‘The last rung on the ladder’ now it’s finished? Is there anything that you did (when you act) where you now think you would have done this different?

Tyler Love: I think that it is an amazing film with lots of amazing actors that I am glad I had the opportunity to be a part of. If there was one thing I had to change about my acting it would be putting myself out there more and putting a lot more energy into it.

SKSM: You worked with Jeff Blankenship on this film, how was that?

Tyler Love: It was awesome! I think Jeff is an amazing director and just an amazing person in general. I am glad that I got to work with him on this.

SKSM: Was there any funny or special moment when they made the movie that you would like to tell me about?

Tyler Love: There was one moment that I still remember now, extremely vividly, and it was one of the most special moments that I had with them. Me and Ruby had just finished the scene where we are about to play “The Game.” I remember Jeff just saying that we did so good that it almost made him cry. Max said almost the same thing. I will hold that memory dear for a while.

SKSM: Do you still have any contact with the crew/cast from that time? If so with who?

Tyler Love: Sadly, I do not have any contact with any of the cast or crew. I know that my mom has kept in touch with them trying to get updates on it and stuff, and Max has been in touch with her, but I have not been able to reach out or have been reached out to by cast or crew.

SKSM: Besides studying, are you working on another film nowadays?

Tyler Love: No, no I am not. As much as I would like to, I do not know how to find out about it. And I have certain limitations for what I can do, as I am still young…so I cannot drive or have a lot of that responsibility of my own.

SKSM: What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

Tyler Love: I think it surprises people to hear that I started my own chess club at school. I just don’t think that people would guess that that is something that I would do.

SKSM: Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. Is there anything you want to say to the fans that read this interview?

Tyler Love: All I want to say is – Ben, Summer, Sam, Riley, and all of my other friends, I’m trying to embarrass you right now and I’m giving you all a shout out because you guys are awesome.

SKSM: Do you like to add anything else?

Tyler Love: No, I think you pretty much summed it up with the questions that you asked. Thank you for your time.
